MAGNUM DAYS
Saturday, December 2nd through Sunday, December 10th

Every year Christmas in the Cellar also kicks off Magnum Days in our tasting room. This is a unique opportunity to taste and purchase perfectly aged large format wines from our library. We will be sampling these exquisite wines at the Christmas in the Cellar event and all week in the tasting room. This year’s choices are the 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2002 Quintet and the 2005 Reserve Zinfandel. Purchase $100 in wine to qualify (sorry, club shipments do not count) and you can take home up to two magnums at $35 each, ($25 each for club members). If you live out of the area, please call the winery at 530-644-5948 and we will be happy to ship them to you. This is the perfect time to purchase wine for a special holiday party or celebration. First come, first serve until the wines are gone!

January 2018

QUINTET BLENDING
Saturday, January 27 11am to 1:30pm & 3pm to 5:30pm
Sunday, January 28 12:30pm to 3:00pm

Do you ever wonder what goes into the ideal bottle of wine? How much thought the winemaker puts into blending the perfect components? If so, then this is the class for you. The Quintet event is a fabulous way to try your hand at winemaking without giving up your job, home and family! The class starts off with a flight of vertical Quintets, going over the blends used, the harvest information, as well as the aging information. The Bush family has been making Quintet since 1992, so this class offers a great perspective on how wines age based on their blends. The second flight consists of the five Bordeaux varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cab Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot), all tasted in 100% varietal form from barrel. Learn what makes the different varieties special, and the part each plays in the final blend. Taste the 2016 vintage from the barrel before it is bottled. Spend the final hour blending your own Quintet. You can take home a bottle of your personal blend for $32.00 plus tax. The class fee is $25 per person plus tax. A reservation is required as this event has limited seating and always sells out.
