PORT MONTH – Tasting Room
It’s February again, and it’s time to celebrate Port-styled wines. From tastings of older vintages (back to 2000 and older) to our annual blue cheese versus chocolate competition, to the release of our 2010 New-World Port, to the quintessential Port experience-Portopia, it’s an educational extravaganza steeped in Port. The chocolate versus blue cheese competition will be held over President’s weekend, and Dedrick’s Cheese will be at the winery all four days spearheading the tasting. Come taste and make your vote count. Keep an eye on our Facebook page in February for other Port doings as well as local restaurants celebrating our New-World Port. It’s also the perfect time to restock your port collection with you favorite older vintages.

Do you love Port? Collect Port? Or just want to learn about our New-World Port? Portopia is an educational event that is the pinnacle of Port Month. Did you ever think about pairing port with sausage? Macaroni and Cheese? Pizza? Or use it in a beet salad? At this walk-around event experience all these culinary creations made or paired with Ports dating back to 2000. Learn that Port is not just a dessert wine and that it can be enjoyed at all times of the meal. Taste the 2016 futures from the barrel and Paul’s ever popular Tawny Port program. Reservations are required, and each of the three sessions has a limited number of tickets available. Tickets are just $25 per person plus tax and $15 per person plus tax for 2015 Port future purchasers.

Sunday, March 19 10am sharp

Every year we complete our year-end inventory, and we uncover pesky little leftover cases of wine. They might be an older vintage that we are no longer selling, have crooked labels or a scuffed foil. The wine tastes great, but we need to clean up the cellar, and that is where you come in. We are inviting you to this fast paced event where up to 100 cases can sell out in less than 30 minutes. This is the event where we put out the wines on $5, $10 and $15 tables and each customer can purchase three bottles per vintage, per varietal. We will have coffee for those people lining up early as fans know it's a great chance to stock up your cellar with amazing wines.
